2020

McMaster Makers, MacChangers, Deltahacks 6, Mathstronauts, & HtCtW 2020

McMaster Makers - President

  • Secured IBM Affiliation (with the CAS team), thus initiating the McMaster Industry HUB Program

  • Secured McMaster Library Affiliation, allowing for all workshops to be sponsored

MacChangers - Team Lead

  • Leading a team in the development of a modular bus-stop rider display for the city of Hamilton, working towards the Global UN Sustainable Development goals

Delta Hacks 6 - Team Lead

  • Led a team of 4 engineers and developed a visual recognition software using the google colab platform to detect humans and animals near roadways, with the goal of alerting nearby autonomous vehicle

Mathstronauts - STEM HACKS Lead Mentor & Internal Judge

  • STEM HACKs is a one-day hackathon for elementary school kids

  • Was in charge of a group of mentors that had the roles of helping lead groups of elementary school students in the design, and manufacture of a wooden plane powered using an elastic band.

  • Worked as an internal judge in unison with an external-judge (industry partner) to assign points to teams based on their final project design, process, product performance, and pitch.

HtCtW - Team Lead

  • How to Change the World 2020 is a 3-day sprint conference where teams worked together in solving problems that relate to the UN's sustainable development goals

  • Led a team in solving the United Nations SDG #7 - sustainable energy for the northern arctic town of Inuvik. Our solution, "The Arctic Dubai Project" focused on the development of the town's eco-tourism sector, allowed for growth in economy and purchasing power, created a need for more energy, and empowered the people of Inuvik through capital/resource growth.

2019

McMaster Makers, HomeSense, Mathstronauts, Delta Hacks 5 & Forge Startup School

Mathstronauts - Program Instructor

  • Managed and instructed several elementary school classrooms with over 20 students, with the goal of teaching STEM skills through modular hands-on workshops for a not-for-profit organization

Forge Startup School - Founded Makster

  • Co-founded a company at the forge startup incubator program with the intent to provide an easy way to outsource custom, quick and quality prototypes for other startups, allowing them to focus on their main tasks 

  • Earned $1000+ total profit off of first two custom builds with the same client, and received excellent reviews

  • Graduated from the Forge Start Up School, and was voted for best Pitch, during our final presentations - featured on their program advertisement 

McMaster Makers - Co-President

  • Co-founded a club at McMaster University with the mission of providing all university students with a chance to enhance their tech background through a variety of DIY hands-on workshops hosted in the McMaster Maker Space

  • Worked on marketing, outreach, and led the project development team

  • Secured 1800$ in funding from the faculty of Engineering and became an affiliate

  • Joined the McMaster Engineering Society Demo-ed at the Energy Week Conference

Homesense - Sales Associate

  • Initiated conversations with customers, and tending to their every need within the store's realms

  • Operated the cashier, ensuring quick yet complete transactions as well as interact with clientele

Delta Hacks 5 - Team Lead

  • Led a team of 4 engineers during the Delta Hacks Competition in the design and manufacturing of a truck theft system within 24 hours Learned how to program on C++ within the respective time constraints

  • Were the only group to integrate both software and hardware in their solution using Raspberry Pis, WiFi, and programmed through the IoT system particle.io.

  • Was mentioned in a local newspaper

2018

Mathstronauts

Mathstronauts- Project Developer, Instructor, & Volunteer Mentor

  • Managed and instructed several elementary school classrooms with over 20 students, with the goal of teaching STEM skills through modular hands-on workshops for a not-for-profit organization

  • Researched, developed software, and manufactured hardware creating tech projects using the C-programming language, with the goal of teaching elementary school students fundamental STEM skills

  • Guided elementary school students through a series of workshops to learn fundamental engineering skills necessary for the completion of a one-day hackathon called STEM Hacks
